Malcolm Jenkins Addresses DeSean Jackson’s Controversial Instagram Post

Following DeSean Jackson’s recent anti-Semitic post on Instagram, some athletes, including Malcolm Jenkins, have spoken out against it.

Malcolm Jenkins, a safety for the Saints, made a video on Instagram, stating, “We can acknowledge Jewish heritage and the pain they have endured while also concentrating on the real issues. Jewish people are not our adversaries, and we are not theirs. Let’s not lose sight of the actual problem at hand, which is the ongoing disregard for black lives in this country. Let’s channel this energy into demanding justice for Breonna Taylor and dismantling systemic racism,” Jenkins posted with the video.

Jenkins emphasized the importance of not getting distracted by the current debates, saying, “We need to maintain our focus. While acknowledging that inappropriate comments were made, we need to allow those affected to express their concerns. However, we must not lose sight of the bigger picture, as Breonna Taylor’s killers are still at large. We need to continue the fight for justice. There is much work to be done, and this controversy should not divert our attention. Stay focused.”

Julian Edelman also shared his thoughts on the matter earlier in the week:

“The black and Jewish communities share many similarities. Sadly, both are targets of ignorance and hate.”

“We must listen, learn, and take action,” Edelman expressed. “Having those difficult conversations is crucial for driving real change.”
