Eric Reid is in scraps with Malcolm Jenkins

The safety of Carolina Panthers Eric Reid’s pregame brawl with Malcolm Jenkins on Sunday had reportedly extended to the postgame when he called the safety of Philadelphia Eagles a “sellout.”

Since late of the last season, Jenkins and Reid have been battling with each other off the field. Jenkins has co-founded the Coalition of the Players who reportedly stopped kneeling during the national anthem after NFL announced that they are willing to donate around $100 million to the causes which are considered essential to the coalition.

The battle had boiled over to the field during and before the victory of Carolina 21-17 where the Panthers have dispersed from 17 points down in the fourth quarter.

It began when the assistant coach of Carolina and one of the officials had to restrain Reid from Jenkins when the Eagles were getting introduced. The two players have also exchanged words during the warm-ups.

Following this incident, Reid kneeled during the anthem the same way he did in his first of the three games at Carolina for continuing the protest of systemic oppression and social injustice. However, as soon as captains from both the teams and Jenkins were walking towards the midfield for the toss of the coin, Reid reportedly charged the field and engaged himself into a heated argument with Jenkins.

Torrey Smith, the former wide receiver of Eagles and many other Panthers, restrained Reid.

When Reid was on defense, constantly stared at Jenkins on the sideline of Philadelphia.

After the game was concluded, Reid told Jenkins that he has “capitalized on the situation.” Reid is the first player who joined Kaepernick in kneeling when both of them played for San Francisco 49ers and added that “He co-opted with the movement that was started by Colin to get his organization started. It was cowardly. He sold us out.”

Kaepernick, on the other hand, tweeted to support to Reid.
