Retired soccer star Megan Rapinoe and her partner Sue Bird recently traveled to Wales for the wedding of Rapinoe’s former teammate.
Jess Fishlock and Tziarra King celebrated their wedding in Wales, and photos and videos of the joyous occasion were shared online.
Despite being in a boot due to an Achilles injury from her final game, Rapinoe drew attention as she was seen on the dance floor on her scooter in a dance line, with Pitbull’s ‘Don’t Stop The Party’ blaring through the speakers.
As they attended the wedding, there were speculations from fans about Bird and Rapinoe tying the knot, which Bird had to address by stating, “PSA: Megan & I did NOT get married,” on her Instagram Story. She added, “Sorry for the confusion. I guess the fits were too good.”
Bird was seen in a white double-breasted jacket and black slacks with a white pearl hair barrette, while Rapinoe sported a black blazer dress over lacy black tights.
The couple has been engaged since October 2020, four years after meeting at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Rapinoe’s career with the USWNT has brought her incredible fame and millions of dollars in endorsements. According to The New York Times, the average salary on the team in 2019 ranged from $100,000 to $400,000 annually.
