The standout performance of Norway’s Steller in men’s skiing has added excitement to this World Cup season. It’s been just a year since stars like Aksel Lund Svindal and Kjetil Jansrud took the top two spots at the Pyeongchang Olympics in front of the Norwegian prince, but this season has seen a more spread-out result in the main event. Leading up to the upcoming race on Saturday, Svindal and Jansrud have only managed one podium finish together in four races.

Norway’s downhill victory was secured by the promising skier, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, known for his hard work and support for his teammates. Svindal mentioned to the Associated Press on Thursday that their recent performances have not been up to par. He acknowledged that there’s still work to be done, but they are holding their own. Additionally, both Svindal and Jansrud have previously won in other competitions, including the super G training in 2010 and 2014, respectively.

American veteran skier Steven Nyman, who is slightly older than Svindal, is also facing challenges with knee issues this season. After finishing fourth in the downhill practice on Thursday, Nyman commented that at times Jansrud and Svindal are not performing at their best. Fans are eager to see Nyman’s performance on February 9th in Sweden, where Svindal claimed the gold medal back in 2007.
