After facing challenges in recent months, Ester Ledecka has made the decision to prioritize Alpine skiing over snowboarding. She will be participating in the Alpine skiing World Championship next month instead of the snowboard world.

As an athlete representing the Czech Republic, Ledecka has received recognition for her skills in skiing and snowboarding, particularly at the Pyeongchang Olympics. She was originally scheduled to compete in both the giant slalom freestyle ski and the snowboard world Championship on February 4th. The events are set to take place in Utah and Sweden, with conflicting schedules for Ledecka’s training sessions.

Following the World Cup training sessions, Ledecka expressed her decision to focus on skiing, stating, “I go skiing.” While she enjoys both sports, skiing takes precedence for her. She demonstrated her prowess in snowboarding by winning a race in Florida a month ago. She is now preparing for the downhill championship and the super G training.

Ledecka’s coach acknowledged her commitment to not completely stopping either sport and expressed satisfaction with her understanding of safety concerns. Following the Alpine events, Ledecka plans to return to snowboarding competition. She attempted to alter the competition schedules through FIS, but the governing body was unable to accommodate the request despite its efforts to assist.
