Paris Saint Germain star Kylian Mbappé is reportedly in a relationship with Ines Rau, who made history as the first transgender model to grace the cover of Playboy magazine.
An Italian news outlet, Corriere dello Sport, revealed that Mbappé and Rau were spotted together at the Cannes Film Festival and later photographed on a luxury yacht.
Rau underwent gender confirmation surgery at the age of 16 and has had a versatile career spanning modeling, dancing, and DJing in Spain.
She was featured as Playboy magazine’s ‘Playmate of the month’ in their November issue, breaking boundaries as the first openly transgender woman to receive this title.
Rau’s initial appearance in Playboy dates back to 2014, and in 2017, she made history as the first transgender model to grace the cover of the magazine. Despite facing backlash, Cooper Hefner, son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, stated: “We should collectively advocate for a more inclusive world, one that opposes hate and embraces acceptance.”
In an interview with Playboy, via ETOnline, Rau shared: “I lived a long time without disclosing that I was transgender.
“I dated extensively and almost forgot. I was afraid of not finding a partner and being perceived as strange. Then I realized, ‘You should just be true to yourself. It’s liberating to be honest about your identity, whether it’s your gender, sexuality, or anything else.
“Those who reject you are not worth your time. It’s not about seeking validation from others; it’s about valuing yourself.”
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed, “During the photoshoot, memories of difficult times from my childhood flashed before me.
“Now, experiencing everything that’s unfolding brings me immense joy and happiness. I thought, ‘Am I really going to be a Playmate — me?’ It’s the most wonderful compliment I’ve ever received. It’s like receiving a massive bouquet of roses.”
