By the second quarter it seemed a foregone conclusion that the Buffalo Bills would easily trounce the Texans. But a surprise comeback, and a last minute overtime field goal, and Houston secured a narrow victory with a decidedly back-ended performance.

The game started with a Josh Allen touchdown for the Bills. The first half went on to be dominated by Stephen Hauschka, who scored two field goals, both at 40 yards, in the second quarter, and another at 38 yards in the third. The Texans struggled under the onslaught, not taking any points at all. Houston we have a problem indeed.

But the third quarter was where the Texans broke their losing streak, with a 20 yard run by Deshaun Watson ending in a touchdown for Houston. Even so, going into the fourth the Bills stood at double the Texans’ score.

A 41 yard field goal from Ka’imi Fairbairn and a touchdown from Carlos Hyde put the Texans at a three point lead, until Stephen Hauschka pegged a desperate, last-minute field goal at 47 yards.

Play went into overtime, breaking with a final field goal from Fairbairn, securing the Texans’ victory.
