The MMA world is abuzz with the recent decision by the UFC to relocate UFC 232 from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on short notice, creating a wave of changes for both fans and fighters. The move from T-Mobile Arena to the Forum just six days before the event during the busy winter holiday season presented a significant challenge for all involved.

The spotlight is on Jon Jones, a 31-year-old MMA star, who faced licensing issues in Nevada. Jones underwent a drug test on December 9, 2018, that revealed traces of a steroid metabolite in his system. This metabolite, known as M3, had previously been detected in Jones’ system in July 2017, resulting in a 15-month suspension. However, after further examination by experts, the US Anti-Doping Agency concluded that the current presence of the metabolite was residual from the previous incident and not a new ingestion of the banned substance.

This revelation highlights that Jones had already been penalized for the steroid use in 2017. Originally slated to compete in Nevada, the test results were shared with the Nevada State Athletic Commission last week, leaving them insufficient time for a thorough review before the event.
