Philadelphia Phillies’ standout player Bryce Harper reassured fans that he is doing well after taking a fastball to the face during a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday.

In a video shared on Instagram, Harper mentioned that he is feeling good. He underwent medical evaluation and a CT scan following the incident, with all results indicating he is okay.

Harper was struck by a fastball from left-hander Genesis Cabrera during the sixth inning, clocked at 96.9mph, which hit his left cheek. Despite the impact causing a cut on the left side of his nose and leaving his face bloodied, Harper managed to get up and leave the field with assistance.

Cabrera then hit Didi Gregorius with the next pitch, leading Phillies manager Joe Girardi to argue with the home plate umpire, Chris Segal. Girardi was subsequently ejected from the game, and Harper was replaced by Matt Joyce for the remainder of the match, while Gregorius continued playing.

Following the game, Cabrera expressed his remorse through a translator, apologizing for the unintentional actions that transpired, especially to Harper. He wished Harper a swift recovery, acknowledging that the situation had gotten out of control and expressing regret for how events unfolded.
