Sarah Fuller, the standout soccer player for Vanderbilt Commodores, is set to transfer to North Texas to further her career after completing her football journey.

She will be joining the Mean Green soccer team as a graduate transfer in the upcoming season.

In recent weeks, Fuller made history by becoming the first woman to play and score points in a Power 5 college football game. She stepped in to help the Vanderbilt football team in November when issues related to COVID-19 affected the special teams.

Fuller made waves by handling kickoffs and scoring extra points for Vanderbilt.

Head coach John Hedlund of North Texas expressed his excitement about having Fuller on the team, citing her experience as a valuable asset to the roster.

“A big part of our championship success at UNT has always been having a great keeper in goal for us throughout my time here,” said Hedlund on National Signing Day via the team website. “Sarah brings that presence with her experience as the starter for Vanderbilt this season and playing in the SEC. At 6-foot-1, she has the size, athletic ability, and obviously, the experience to dominate in goal and contribute to our eight championships in C-USA. We’re thrilled to welcome Sarah for the next two years as she pursues her master’s degree here at UNT. Welcome home!”

Just recently, Fuller announced the end of her football career after Vanderbilt decided to cancel their final game of the season.

“It looks like my time as a football player has come to an end,” Fuller shared on social media. “I would like to personally thank the entire Vanderbilt football team, coaches, and support staff for this incredible opportunity to be a part of this program. I was embraced as both an athlete and a true member of this team.

“This is an experience that I will never forget and will always hold dear. Best wishes to the seniors and staff who are embarking on new journeys. My sincere hopes for the team as the program moves ahead and continues to thrive.”
