The era of Sarah Fuller in college football has come to a close.
With the cancellation of the Georgia-Vanderbilt game for a second time, it appears that the football career of Vanderbilt’s senior kicker, Sarah Fuller, has likely concluded.
On Monday night, Fuller took to Twitter to announce the probable end of her brief yet groundbreaking football journey.
Fuller expressed:
“It looks like my time as a football player has come to an end. I would like to personally thank the entire Vanderbilt football team, coaches, and support staff for this amazing opportunity to be part of this program. I was accepted as an athlete and a true member of this team. This is an experience that I will never forget and cherish forever. Good luck to the seniors and staff who are moving on to new adventures. My best wishes to the team as this program moves forward and continues to grow.”
While her football journey reaches its conclusion, Fuller will make a return for her soccer team’s NCAA tournament run, which got postponed to the spring due to the global pandemic.

Following this, Fuller intends to transfer to North Texas. She plans on playing soccer for two more years and has no intentions of continuing her football career. In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports, she emphasized her passion for soccer but mentioned that she would be willing to help North Texas if they ever needed her.
“Watching how Sarah has navigated through history-making at Vanderbilt has been truly inspiring,” stated North Texas athletic director Wren Baker in a phone call on Monday. “We are excited to welcome her to the Mean Green family and support her in expanding her influence. She serves as a role model for many people across the nation, especially young female athletes.”
