Richard Jefferson's father was killed in Compton

Authorities say Richard Jefferson Sr. the father of a senior NBA player Richard Jefferson was killed in the driving-in shoots at Compton this week. The 65-year-old Jefferson Sr. was shot shortly before 19:00. According to a statement from the Los Angeles County Police Department, Jefferson Sr. was present right in front of the liquor store some men when a vehicle pulled up and opened fire.

The detective is still trying to find out the motive for the shooting and has not published the description of the suspect. Investigators have said anyone who has information about the murder can contact the sheriff’s homicide officer (323) 890-5500.

38-year-old young Jefferson has played in the NBA for 17 years and has won the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. He played for Denver Nuggets last season. He was born in Los Angeles but told an interviewer that when he was seven, his mother moved him with his two brothers in Arizona.

He said, “We live in the center of the South, during the cracking epidemic. I was born in the 80s, so when we moved in 1987.” He said the family moved to Arizona and started a new life. He graduated from high school in Phoenix and studied at the University of Arizona. According to ESPN, Jefferson had become close to his father in the past few years. The relationship between them grows to the point where Jefferson will spend the summer with his wife and two children in the South Bay, a settlement near his father’s residence in Inglewood.

Although Jefferson has played only in 20 games in the last season, he still believes that he had got a few tricks up his sleeve. Jefferson did not rule out the possibility of returning to the league. “Before I was a basketball player, I was a basketball player,” Jefferson told the New York Times. “My goal is to play basketball this season.”
