The costume cleats are small but a sweet gesture. People are praising the Pittsburgh Steelers for a symbolic gesture. Their supports towards their team member reminds everyone that there are many important things to cheer and worry about no matter how intense the game turns.
The football match between top two teams in the AFC North is worth watching, it would be interesting to see how Steelers will perform after seeing one of their team member and defensive leader suffer serious spinal injury.
This week, Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery due to injury he got on the field Monday. A neurologist who consults for the NFL Players Association, Dr. Anthony Alessi who doesn’t treat Shazier told ESPN on Thursday, Shazier “may not play football again.” He added, “This is a much more severe situation on our hands than we thought.”

Alessi says surgery is needed when the “bones around his spinal cord are dislocated. This is a more severe injury (than a contusion.)”
