The final round of the 2021 Masters tournament appears to be shaping up in Hideki Matsuyama’s favor. Matsuyama, the Japanese golf sensation, surged ahead with an impressive performance during the third round after a rain delay. He managed to score a remarkable -7 65, securing a four-stroke lead as he heads into the last round. The rain delay affected the momentum of other top contenders like Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, but Matsuyama only seemed to thrive in the challenging conditions.

Despite the interruption, Matsuyama continued his exceptional play after the break. In fact, his performance only improved, closing out the day with an impressive -6 in the final eight holes. During the delay, he took the opportunity to reflect on his game while sitting in his car, a decision that seemed to pay off handsomely. As a result, Matsuyama now leads by four shots ahead of Xander Schauffele, Justin Rose, Marc Leishman, and Will Zalatoris. The question remains, will Matsuyama secure his first major victory on Sunday, or will his competitors manage to close the gap and challenge his lead?
