During Monday night’s Lakers-Hawks game in Atlanta, four fans were asked to leave the arena following a dispute with NBA player, LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers emerged victorious with a score of 107-99 against the Atlanta Hawks, leaving Hawks supporter Chris Carlos and his wife, Juliana, dissatisfied. The couple engaged in a verbal confrontation with James from their courtside seats, prompting security to escort them, along with two others in their group, out of the venue.

Video footage captured Mrs. Carlos removing her mask and reprimanding James with the words, “Don’t talk to my husband like that.” She was instructed to put her mask back on, as per the safety protocols in place for all NBA game attendees this season.

Taking to social media afterward, Mrs. Carlos shared her side of the story. In an Instagram video, she expressed, “I was simply sitting there, and Chris has been a dedicated Hawks fan for years. He’s been following the games for a decade. While he may have a bone to pick with LeBron, I personally have no qualms with him. I have no concerns about LeBron.”

She continued, recounting the incident, “Suddenly, LeBron says something to my husband, and I catch wind of it. I rise to my feet and declare, ‘Don’t speak to my husband in that manner,’ to which he glares at me and retorts, ‘Sit down, lady.'”

Upon scrutinizing the footage, The Athletic could not verify James using the specific term ‘lady’ mentioned by Mrs. Carlos.

During the post-game press conference, James addressed the issue, stating, “Ultimately, I appreciate having fans back in the arena. I miss that engagement.”
