Clayton Kershaw expressed his solidarity with the ongoing protests and social issues in the United States through a powerful message on Twitter.

The star pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers shared a heartfelt statement recognizing Juneteenth and endorsing the Black Lives Matter movement.

“Tomorrow is Juneteenth – the day that commemorates the end of slavery in 1865. Yet, today, our Black community still faces injustices daily, a harsh reality throughout our nation’s history,” Kershaw stated. “It is crucial that we speak up. Change begins with dialogue – we must be open to listening, understanding, and engaging in difficult discussions, both with our Black and white brothers and sisters. Silence is not enough.”

The three-time Cy Young awardee vowed to contribute to bettering society and promoting social justice.

“I am eager to listen, keen to learn, and motivated to evolve. I want myself and my children to do better,” Kershaw emphasized. “Black lives matter, and I am dedicated to taking a stand and instigating change – beginning with myself.”

Several individual players, especially notable black athletes across the league, have also raised their voices:
