The US Soccer team faced a tough defeat against Mexico in their recent match as they fell short with a score of 0-3. This win marks Mexico’s most significant victory against their rivals in the past ten years!

Mexico asserted their dominance early in the friendly match, taking the lead within the first 20 minutes. The turning point came when Sergino Dest (US) missed a crucial shot in the 14th minute. Mexico’s Jesus Corona showcased skill by nutmegging Dest in the 21st minute and setting up Javier Hernandez for Mexico’s first goal. Goals from Erick Gutierrez and Uriel Antuna followed, firmly securing Mexico’s win.

The match highlighted Dest’s debut for the US team, where his lack of experience appeared to impact his performance significantly.

Gutierrez made an immediate impact by scoring shortly after his entry into the game just over an hour in, capitalizing on a subpar clearance by US goalkeeper Zac Steffen.

As both teams continue to assess their strategies and players, future friendly matches are expected, with World Cup qualifiers for 2022 set to kick off next year.
