Ryan Bader claimed victory over the Bellator MMA title with a score of 27-5 at Bellator 214. This win marked the conclusion of the heavyweight Grand Prix that began in January 2018. Former Arizona University wrestler, 35-year-old Ryan Bader, stunned Fedor with a swift left hook in the center of the cage. Referee Mike Beltran had to intervene as Bader took advantage of the moment, landing multiple shots on Fedor.

After the fight, Ryan Bader expressed his respect for Fedor, acknowledging the honor of competing against him. Bader, the reigning Bellator light heavyweight champion, made history by becoming the first dual weight champion in Bellator’s history. He defeated Muhammed Lawal in just 15 seconds in the tournament opener and dominated Matt Mitrione in the semi-finals.

Since joining Bellator in 2017, Bader remains undefeated at 5-0. On the other hand, Fedor faced one of the most devastating defeats of his career, marking his fifth knockout loss overall. Bader, who has been fighting since 2008 in the UFC, never received a title shot despite his impressive record.
