Todd McShay’s appearance on ABC’s telecast of the Wisconsin-Northwestern game on Saturday raised concerns among viewers due to his altered voice and appearance.
The 43-year-old ESPN draft analyst attempted to provide a pregame report but drew attention for his unusual voice and unclear speech patterns that differed from his typical delivery.
McShay did not return for the second half. Play-by-play announcer Sean McDonough informed viewers that McShay had to leave due to an illness.
Earlier in April, he missed ESPN’s NFL Draft coverage while recovering from COVID-19.
