After the recent unfortunate incident where Donald Trump was shot in the ear during an unsuccessful assassination attempt, Major League Baseball players have been seen imitating the actions of the 45th President during their celebratory moments.

In a couple of noticeable instances over the weekend, players were seen replicating Trump’s actions right after the assassination attempt. Following his double against the New York Yankees on Sunday, Taylor Walls, the shortstop for Tampa Bay Rays, was seen fist-bumping while mouthing the words “fight, fight, fight.”

Moreover, the St. Louis Cardinals team had a coordinated celebration where the entire dugout covered their right ear while simultaneously raising their fist after outfielder Alec Burleson hit a solo home run.

Although their gestures may seem suggestive, Cardinals player Matt Carpenter clarifies that their actions are not politically motivated but rather an “inside joke.”

This is definitely not a political statement. I believe that’s a bit of a stretch,” mentioned Carpenter.

The team maintains that their celebration is inspired by Burleson’s nickname as a “college rapper” – Biscuit.

Considering Burleson had already hit 18 home runs, the timing of this particular celebration following the events involving former President Trump has sparked some curiosity.
