In the last few days, Andre Iguodala, the Golden State Warriors forward has not experienced any pain and has now plans of returning to play in the NBA Finals, a league source informed ESPN.
Iguodala showed enough progress on Saturday to go through a personal workout and sprinted for the very first time since the time he sustained an injury on his left knee in Game 3 of the conference finals, said the source.
However, his status to play in the Game 3 of the Finals is still not known, as per sources.
When Iguodala was approached after the Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-103, he told ESPN, “I aim to play in Game 3, but I’ve aimed to play in Game 2 and Game 3. We’ll have to see.”
Andre, the Finals MVP of the year 2015, has not played in the last four games after he bumped his knees with James Harden, the Houston Rockets All-Star in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals.
On Sunday, Steve Kerr, the Warriors coach said on Sunday, “I’m optimistic Andre will play at some point in the series,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said on Sunday. “He has gotten better gradually, but there’s no way of knowing for sure at this point.”
Kerr had said last week that Andre is still having a hard time staying away into the playoffs.
“He’s frustrated. His body has not responded at this point,” Kerr said almost two weeks ago.
On the other hand, the team seems to have taken a break with another player. Draymond Green rolled his ankle in Game 7.
Green, who has managed to register 10 points, five assists and 13 boards, has walked with a noticeable limp after the team’s 101-92 win. After he received treatment, he looked fine though.
Furthermore, it is said that the Warriors will be able to win the NBA title this year even without Andre as they include four of the top 20 players playing in the league.
