Jose Aldo had hinted that 2019 might be his last year in the fighting world, but his performance on Saturday proved otherwise. He dominated featherweight contender Renato Moicano, securing a second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night in Fortaleza, Brazil.

Aldo (28-4) showcased his skill and experience throughout the fight, culminating in a decisive victory. After a quiet first round, Aldo unleashed a series of punishing blows on Moicano in the second round, leading to the referee stopping the fight at 44 seconds.

After his win, Aldo leaped out of the Octagon to celebrate with his passionate Brazilian fans at the Northeast Olympic Training Center, reminiscent of his previous triumph over Chad Mendes in 2012.

Addressing the crowd, Aldo expressed his gratitude for their support: “Tonight I came in here as the underdog. Nobody believed in me. But I knew I would have you guys’ support. In life, a lot of times, people say that you can’t do something. You have to believe in yourself. You have to chase your dreams.”

Despite being only three years older than Moicano, Aldo’s experience proved to be a deciding factor in the fight.
