With heavy hearts, the PGA Tour shares the tragic loss of golfer Grayson Murray this past Saturday.
Just after his exit from the Charles Schwab Challenge, Murray, at age 30 and an accomplished two-time PGA Tour victor, leaves the golf world in shock.
At just 30 years old, Murray’s life came to an untimely end.
“The news of Grayson Murray’s departure fills us with profound sadness. Words can’t express our feeling,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan expressed. “The PGA TOUR is akin to a close-knit family, and losing a family member changes you forever. Our hearts go out to Grayson’s family, and we offer them peace during this painful time.
“In speaking with Grayson’s parents, we pledged our deepest sympathies. They insisted that the competition continue in Grayson’s honor. They firmly believed it’s what he would have wanted. While it will be difficult, we intend to honor their request.”
Throughout the week, the Tour will provide access to grief counselors for its participants.

A Tribute to Grayson Murray’s Exceptional Golf Career
Murray demonstrated his golfing prowess from a young age, claiming victory in the Callaway Junior World Championships for three consecutive years beginning in 2006 and earning the distinction of top player in his class.
At the tender age of 16, he was already breaking records as one of the youngest players on the Korn Ferry Tour.
His journey to the top saw a series of notable victories, and after a brief lull, he reclaimed his status on the Korn Ferry Tour with momentous wins at the Advent Health Championship and Simmons Bank Open last year.
He began this season with a stunning win at the Sony Open, outplaying notable competitors such as Byeong Hun An and Keegan Bradley, which propelled him to the 46th spot in the global rankings.
