At UFC 272 this Saturday, instead of a championship bout, the main event was a heated showdown between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington, former friends and training partners in the welterweight category.
Even though the fight extended to all five rounds, there was a clear winner. Covington, also known as ‘Chaos’, ranked #1 in the 170-pound division, displayed dominant grappling skills and overpowered Masvidal. Only one judge scored a round in favor of Masvidal throughout the entire match. Covington, known for his exceptional wrestling abilities, shut down Masvidal’s attempts consistently and underscored his position as one of the top contenders in the division, just behind pound-for-pound champ Kamaru Usman. Following his victory, Covington set his sights on Dustin Poirer for his next challenge, hinting at the potential future match-up.
