# UFC’s Jorge Masvidal Expresses Displeasure Over FBI Raid On Donald Trump
Jorge Masvidal is upset by the recent events involving Donald Trump this week.
The FBI conducted a search at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago property in Florida after sources informed CNN that it was related to potential improper transfer of documents by the former president. In February, the National Archives requested the Department of Justice to investigate whether Trump violated the law by taking official records from the White House to his Florida home.
Masvidal took to social media to voice his discontent with the raid. A known supporter of Trump, he posted on Twitter, decrying it as a “sad day in the USA” in response to the unfolding situation.
The UFC star even drew a comparison between the United States and authoritarian regimes like Venezuela and Cuba. He tweeted, “Sad day in the USA today. These are the tactics of Cuba and Venezuela. No matter what side of the aisle you are on, this ain’t right #loveUSA”.
Additionally, former UFC contender and jiu-jitsu specialist Jake Shields also weighed in on the matter, suggesting parallels between the actions taken and censorship in China.
Shields went as far as calling for the defunding of the FBI, expressing his belief that Trump is viewed as a threat by the ruling elite.
Masvidal’s close ties to Trump and his family are well-documented, with Donald Trump Jr. confirming a strong friendship between the UFC welterweight star and the 45th U.S. president.
