The Saints have shown a strong preference for Taysom Hill.
Shortly after Drew Brees declared his retirement from the team, the Saints announced a contract restructure for Hill to free up $7.5 million in cap space.
The new deal is a 4-year, $140 million contract extension, with the provision that all years can be voided.
According to reports by Adam Schefter, Hill’s contract for this year includes a $9.686 million signing bonus, a $1.439 million guaranteed roster bonus, a $1.034 million guaranteed base salary, in addition to potential incentives.
In the 2020 season, Hill played in all 16 games for the Saints, achieving a 72.7 percent completion rate on his passes for 928 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions.
