Sullivan Barrera will face Seanie Monaghan for the heavyweight title

There was a time when light heavyweight contender Sullivan Barrera who has said to be defeated the opponents which include Joe Smith Jr., Karo Murat as well as Felix Valera. After that, he has got a shot at the world title things which seemed to go not so well. Barrera has said to be fought hard and outclassed during the 12th round knockout which came against Dmitry Bivol during March.

But now it seems that the former amateur standout on the Cuban national team now hopes to get back on the path to get another title. This will come to him if he wins against Irish Seanie Monaghan which is said to be scheduled to be around 10 round bout which will take place on Saturday. This will be happening in Golden Boy Fight card at 9 PM ET at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, New York.

In a statement by Barrera, it is said that the fight is said to be very significant for his career. His only loss came to Andre Ward during the bout in the year 2016. He added by saying that every fight that he is fighting is important to him. He is strong, but Barrera said that he is too determined to bring his best to fight against him on Saturday.

Earlier this fight was said to be scheduled on 18thh August 2018 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. But due to the injury on the right side eye by Barrera that he received during the sparring session which was going for the preparation of the fight. The fight was then rescheduled on 31st July. The promoter of Main Events, Kathy Duva said that it is better late than never while rescheduling the bout.
