Pittsburgh Steelers, who had been considered Super Bowl contenders all year, seem to have hit a rough patch, suffering back-to-back losses and raising doubts about their position in the league.
In a 26-15 defeat, the Buffalo Bills outplayed the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, exploiting the usually strong Pittsburgh defense.
Fox Sports commentator Colin Cowherd didn’t mince words in a video message to the Pittsburgh fan base after their loss to Buffalo, stating that the Steelers’ glory days are behind them.
“Pittsburgh’s a good team, but their time has come and gone,” Cowherd remarked. “Buffalo is Pittsburgh 15 years ago. Big, strong, mobile quarterback. Tremendous young coach on the defense side. The Bills are current and real and a Super Bowl contender. The Steelers are a big brand and they are no longer elite and you know it if you’re in Pittsburgh.”
With an 11-2 record, the Steelers now find themselves a game behind the Kansas City Chiefs for the top seed and the only bye in the AFC this season.
