On Sunday, the Washington Football Team achieved their fourth straight win by defeating the San Francisco 49ers. This win propelled them to the top of the NFC East standings.

The game showcased a unique dynamic where there was minimal back-and-forth scoring in each quarter, with intense battles unfolding quarter by quarter. The 49ers started strong by scoring the first touchdown in the last minute of the opening quarter when Jeff Wilson powered through the middle. Washington, however, failed to score any points during this period.

As the game progressed into the second quarter, there was a dramatic shift in momentum favoring Washington. The team secured two field goals by Dustin Hopkins and a touchdown following a fumble recovery by Chase Young from Daron Payne. Conversely, the 49ers were unable to capitalize on their early lead, a trend that persisted into the third quarter. Washington continued to dominate by adding a field goal and another touchdown as the quarter came to a close, with Kamren Curl intercepting Nicholas Mullens’ pass to Kyle Juszczyk.

Washington maintained their lead until the end of the third quarter. However, the final quarter belonged to the 49ers, with Juszczyk scoring a touchdown from Mullens’ pass with just ten minutes remaining, and no further points were added by either team.
