On Sunday, Ron Rivera’s team achieved a significant win against the Dallas Cowboys, keeping the Washington Football Team in the running in the NFC East.

After this victory, Rivera had another reason to celebrate within 24 hours as he finished his last chemotherapy session. Doctors informed him that he is responding well to the treatment, saying, “What I’ve been told is, it’s headed in the right direction.”

Back in August, Rivera revealed his diagnosis of squamous cell cancer and completed seven weeks of treatment on Monday with a chemotherapy session and a proton treatment.

When asked about the surprising aspects of his treatment, Rivera mentioned the unexpected side effects like fatigue, nausea, and issues with equilibrium which affected his coaching abilities. Despite the challenges, he persevered through the treatment process with determination.
