NFL Analyst Predicts Cowboys Will Pursue a Significant QB Trade

When Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending ankle injury, backup QB Andy Dalton stepped in and led the Dallas Cowboys to a victory over the New York Giants last week.

Initially considered a capable replacement for Prescott for the remainder of the Cowboys’ season, Dalton’s performance in just one game has prompted a shift in opinions.

The team managed only 3 points before scoring a late touchdown in a lopsided loss to the Cardinals on Monday Night Football.

Chase Stuart of Football Perspective suggests that there are significant trade speculations emerging, involving New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold potentially being traded to the Cowboys. Stuart proposes a second-round pick in the NFL Draft as a possible return.

Despite holding a 2-4 record, the Cowboys currently lead the NFC East, but merely making it to the playoffs falls short of the team’s Super Bowl ambitions that were high throughout the offseason.

The Jets fell to 0-6 after suffering another demoralizing loss on Sunday, this time a 24-0 defeat by the Dolphins. The team has demonstrated a readiness to part ways with players, indicating that Darnold could be the next to depart.
