President Donald Trump has been engaged in a contentious relationship with the NFL and NBA regarding player protests during the National Anthem, and he has now found more ammunition to attack one of the leagues.

Trump, who has expressed dissatisfaction with the NBA, voiced his disapproval of the league evolving into what he perceives as a “political organization,” citing their declining ratings:

“I don’t know much about the NBA protest,” Trump stated. “I know their ratings have been very bad, as I believe people are becoming weary of the NBA. However, I am not well-versed on the protest, but I am aware that their ratings have been declining, which is regrettable. They appear to have taken a political stance, which is concerning. I don’t think that’s beneficial for sports or the nation.”

This recent Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks opted to remain in the locker room instead of playing their Game 5 against the Orlando Magic. This decision prompted other teams in the remaining two games to also boycott.

The move was a response to the police shooting of Jacob Blake, an African American man in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
