The queen of the tennis is facing a lot of problems after the birth of her baby. It seems as if she is getting punished because the higher authority has denied giving her the ticket for her first major French open tournament. Since after the birth of her daughter Olympia in September she was on rest for a long time. The officials from the French Tennis Federation told the press that she is currently on number 453 as well as she is out of luck.
It might be because Williams has spent the last 16 months on sabbatical and focus on some other endeavours. After the birth of her baby, she faced a lot of health complications that left her bedridden for around six weeks. The officials have not recognized the exception of the Williams once she becomes the mother of a daughter. The French open officials mentioned that she is the world most popular athletes and as she is going to come back in the game she will face the tough competition right from the beginning of the match.
According to the rulebook of the WTA, it allows the players are returning from injuries, or maternity leave will have a special ranking which allows the entry of the players in the tournament. From the last few decades, Tennis has been a young woman’s sport. As the young player gets towards the motherhood, their sports career comes to an end.
Some players are all set to return to the tennis court after the birth of their child. Having a baby doesn’t mean that there is an end of the career for a sports person. The rules are still under review in the WTA as a part of 2019 process rules.
