The Washington Redskins have traded for a quarterback for the second time in this offseason. On Friday, the Redskins announced that they had traded they’re No. 188 pick in the NFL Draft to the Cleveland Browns for quarterback Kevin Hogan and a sixth-round pick (No. 205 overall).
After being selected by the Kansas Hogan City Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, before joining the Browns that year September, Hogan is now entering in his third season.
In Hogan’s first two seasons with the Cleveland, he played in eight games with four starts, throwing 621 yards with four touchdowns and seven interceptions. Moreover, he has also carried the ball 18 times for one rushing touchdown and 176 yards.
Hogan has appeared in four games as a rookie. In Hogan’s debut week at the NFL in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals that year, he completed 12-of-24 passes for 100 yards along with 104 rushing yards and one touchdown. During the 2017 season, Hogan has appeared in three of the Browns’ first five games. In NFL Week 6 against the Houston Texans, Hogan earned his first career start by completing 20-of-37 passes for 140 yards.
He also carried the ball five times for 36 yards and one touchdown. Hogan appeared in 50 games for the Cardinal during his time at Stanford and set school records for offensive yards, most career rushing yards record by a quarterback and most career wins by a quarterback. In 2015, he also earned second-team All-Pac-12 honours as a senior.
Hogan, born on October 20, 1992, originally belongs from McLean, Va., and studied at Gonzaga College H.S in Washington, where he achieved 4,762 yards and 37 touchdowns in the three seasons. With this trade, Hogan becomes the fourth quarterback on the roster, joining Colt McCoy, Stephen Morris, and Alex Smith.
