The Los Angeles Lakers had made a record in the history of NBA, but that record didn’t relate to any achievement. The record was the worst free throw shooting percentage. Even though, the team had worst free throw shooting percentage the team beat the Pacers.
The team Lakers were playing without its three best players, i.e., Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kentavious Caldwell. The leaker shot an unfathomably 2-for-14 from the foul line in a 99-86 and won the match against the Indiana Pacers which was held at Staples Center.
As per the sources, the team had able to get 14.3 percent from the free throw line which is the lowest by any team in NBA history with a minimum of 10 attempts.
Guard Jordan Clarkson said, “Man, that free throw line, it’s like a virus or something.” Jordan was the only Laker to make free throws in the game. Even he also commented that what did they shoot at time?
When asked about this incident, Clarkson had not word to comment on it. He only said that they will fix that and will work more in the gym.
On the other side, the Pacers shot 2-for-25 from 3-point range in the loss. With this, the Pacer also has created a record, the record for the worst percentage in franchise history and worst by any Lakers opponent.
However, the team has won the game by 13 and talking about the reason for this win, coach Like Walton stated that it was the defense formation of the team which blocked the Spacer form scoring.
Walton said “Our defense was awesome tonight,” Walton said. “… It shows just how hard our guys played on that end to overcome what’s — I got to look — it’s got to be the worst of all time from the free throw line. It was all defense for us tonight.”
