Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders was apprehended for speeding in northeast Ohio after a police officer registered his vehicle at 101 mph just after midnight on Tuesday.

The incident involved a Dodge TRX truck, which was clocked 41 miles per hour over the posted speed limit of 60 mph while heading north on Interstate 71 near Cleveland, as reported by FOX 8.

X. “As a 5th-string 5th-rounder battling for a roster spot — a place in the league — you obviously JUST CAN’T…Now, unfortunately, all those critics are going to nod and say, ‘Told you so.’

Looking ahead, Sanders may face a fine of $250 for this offense, which is categorized as a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He could also choose to contest the ticket during a court appearance in Strongsville on July 3.

Having fallen to the fifth round (144th overall) in the 2025 NFL Draft, the former projected first-round talent now finds himself in a competitive quarterback race in Cleveland.

With veteran Joe Flacco anticipated to start the season, Sanders is vying for a backup position alongside Kenny Pickett and third-round pick Dillon Gabriel.

Additionally, Deshaun Watson, under a $230 million contract, may make a return after re-injuring his Achilles tendon last January, adding further complexity to the quarterback situation.

As training camp is slated to begin on July 18, Sanders will be looking to avoid any further distractions during the offseason.
