In an emotional Instagram post, Randi Mahomes expressed her grief, stating, “Hard to find the words of holding my father’s hand as he goes to Heaven. I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant! Matthew 25:23.”
Prior to the AFC Championship game against the Bills, Randi had informed fans that her father was in hospice care, noting her struggles to articulate the situation: “My dad is in hospice and I’m lost for words.”
Following a narrow victory against the Bills, which ended 32-29, Martin was able to witness his grandson compete in Super Bowl 59, marking Mahomes’ fifth Super Bowl appearance within just six years.
Although the Chiefs were vying to become the first NFL team ever to achieve a three-peat, they fell short, suffering a 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles. Nonetheless, Mahomes had a commendable performance, throwing for 257 yards and three touchdowns.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Mahomes family as they navigate this challenging time.
