The Week 11 installment of Sunday Night Football showcased an AFC clash between the Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams were in urgent need of a victory as the playoffs approach, making this matchup particularly appealing to fans.
Fans Express Frustration with Chris Collinsworth During Sunday Night Football
However, viewers’ attention was briefly drawn away from the action — at least on social media. A number of people voiced their dissatisfaction with the commentary from Sunday Night Football analyst Cris Collinsworth, which has become a recurring theme.
“Am I the only one who mutes the TV and tunes into SiriusXM for the game when Chris Collinsworth is announcing? Good grief. I’d rather sit on a nail-spiked bag than listen to him call games. I feel like I get more frustrated as the game goes on with him in the booth,” one fan stated on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Oh Christ, we have Cris Collinsworth on the call tonight,” another user remarked.
Joe Burrow Speaks Out on Bengals’ Trade Deadline Activities
The playoffs remain within reach for Cincinnati. Earlier this month, the team made crucial adjustments to their roster at the NFL trade deadline, including acquiring running back Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears. Burrow expressed that witnessing the franchise take action at the deadline reassures him that the front office is confident in the team’s potential to make an impact in the latter half of the season.
“That demonstrates their confidence in the players on this team to achieve our goals this year,” Burrow remarked. “Sure, there may have been some weaknesses, but they aimed to enhance the team for this stretch, which is exciting and positive for us.”
The Bengals quarterback emphasized that the acquisition is a positive move as it allows the team to ease the burden on starting running back Chase Brown.
“We’ll have to see how his role develops. Just [being able to] take some carries off Chase (Brown),” Burrow commented.
“He had 27 carries last week, performed exceptionally, and did well in the last game, too. So now we can potentially give him a few less runs and a couple of passes to lighten the load on Chase a bit.”
