Colorado’s head football coach Deion Sanders has been the subject of speculation regarding a potential move to an NFL head coaching role.

As of now, however, these remain mere rumors. Coach Prime took the time to respond to questions about his future on Tuesday.

“I’m happy where I am, man,” Sanders told reporters. “I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is?… That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”

The NFL Hall of Famer also mentioned that reporters should refrain from discussing his future in front of his athletic director, Rick George.

“You going to talk like that with my AD in here, that’s so disrespectful,” Sanders said. “You going to talk about me going somewhere with my AD in here?”

Fans, in particular, speculate that Sanders, a former player for the Cowboys, could be an ideal candidate for a role in Dallas.

Former teammate Michael Irvin claims that according to his sources, Sanders would indeed be open to accepting a head coaching role in the NFL.

It’s worth noting that Sanders’ son, Shedeur, is planning to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, providing further incentive for Coach Prime to consider the jump.

The Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who has past ties to Sanders from their time together at Jackson State, was also queried about Sanders potentially moving to the NFL.

Ultimately, Coach Prime has enjoyed remarkable success since taking the helm at Colorado, transforming a 2-11 team from 2022 to an impressive 8-2 record this season.

The team is currently sitting at the top of the Big 12, ranked No. 16 nationally, with two games remaining on their timeline against Kansas (scheduled for November 23) and Oklahoma State (on November 29).
