Report: Deion Sanders Eyeing Next Head Coaching Job, Drawing Massive Crowds to University of Colorado

Less than a year ago, the University of Colorado’s annual spring football game drew minimal attendance and excitement. However, things have changed significantly since legendary football player Deion Sanders took the helm as the new head coach last December.

With Sanders leading the team, interest in the Colorado Buffaloes has skyrocketed, as evidenced by the sold-out 45,000-seat stadium and ESPN broadcasting the game live. Even though Sanders has yet to coach a game with his new team, he’s already considered a leading candidate for more prominent head coaching positions.

Although Sanders signed a lucrative five-year, $29.5 million contract with Colorado, it’s known that there are ways around getting out of a contract in the sports world.

While Sanders has expressed his intention to coach younger men who are in more need of guidance and mentorship, if the university achieves the same level of success that he led Jackson State University to, there’s a real possibility that a major college program or even an NFL team could come calling.

Only time will tell if Sanders decides to answer that call.
