Matt Barnes hints at potentially serious misconduct involving Ime Udoka. He previously substantiated his comments concerning the suspension of Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka and questioned Udoka’s chances of coaching in the NBA again.
Udoka faced a suspension from the Celtics for the entirety of the 2022-2023 season following an investigation that revealed an affair between him and another staff member.
During an appearance on VLAD TV, Barnes elaborated on the issue, suggesting that there might be more to the Udoka scandal than what has been made public so far.
Barnes implied that the consequences may be significant due to the people involved rather than the incident itself. He mentioned that such situations are not uncommon in workplaces, emphasizing that the nature of the affair goes beyond the act itself.
Reports indicate that Udoka was involved in a relationship with a staff member responsible for organizing the team’s travel arrangements, including accommodations for Udoka’s partner, actress Nia Long.
Barnes expressed his belief that Udoka’s future in the NBA coaching realm is uncertain and that the situation could have serious repercussions for his career.
Initially, Barnes had defended Udoka when news of a possible suspension surfaced. However, upon learning more, Barnes deleted his supportive post and acknowledged the severity and complexity of the situation in Boston.
