The issue of road rage has long been a concern in the country. However, since the global pandemic began to ease, allowing people to return to some sense of normalcy, the problem seems to have worsened.
Raheim Jeter, a quarterback recruit from West Virginia, became a victim of this when he was shot in what is being referred to as a “road rage incident.” His mother, Latresha Hughes, revealed that Jeter is “doing well and recovering,” according to Chris Anderson of 247Sports.
Hughes shared a message on Facebook stating:
“[Good morning good morning]!! Some may know, some may not my son Raheim Jeter was involved in a road rage incident on Friday 2/18/2022. He was shot in his left leg and will be having surgery soon. I’m asking that everybody keep us in your prayers. I can’t say much about the incident because I don’t know everything, but I will say my God is awesome! Thanks to everyone who reached out and continue to pray for him.”
Jeter, a 3-star prospect in the class of 2023, joined West Virginia’s 2023 class in December following a junior year where he threw for 2,979 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
He chose to commit to the Mountaineers over other schools like Kentucky, Auburn, Charlotte, Georgia, Memphis, Missouri, Temple, and Virginia Tech.
During the 2021 season, West Virginia finished with a 6-7 record.
