Jerry Jones Criticizes Cowboys’ Receivers Performance

Dak Prescott had a strong start to the 2021 season, but his performance has declined recently.

In a recent interview on 105.3 The Fan, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was asked about Prescott’s health status. His response seemed to blame some of the team’s receivers for the issues on the field.

Jones stated, “Yes. The thing that you’re seeing sometimes when the pass looks off target is because the receiver, for example, ran the wrong route, cutting it short by two yards… That’s one aspect, better routes.”

Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, and other receivers may not appreciate these remarks.

In the recent game against the New Orleans Saints, Prescott threw for 238 yards, a touchdown, and an interception after Amari Cooper returned to play following a positive COVID-19 test.

Although Prescott’s stats were decent, the offense struggled until Tony Pollard’s impressive rushing touchdown in the second half. The team will need to improve as they prepare for a significant matchup against the in-form Washington Football Team.
