Following a commanding performance against the Houston Texans on Thursday night, the Carolina Panthers emerged victorious with a score of 24-9. This win propels them to the top of the NFC South with an undefeated record of three wins, surpassing Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Panthers secured the first touchdown of the match when Sam Darnold made a successful five-yard rush into the Houston end zone. Despite facing a setback due to running back Christian McCaffrey’s hamstring injury, the Texans fought back in the second quarter. Davis Mills made a short middle pass into the Carolina end zone, which was caught by Anthony Miller. Miller then dashed the final yard to score a crucial six-point touchdown just before the end of the quarter.

Reflecting on McCaffrey’s injury, Darnold expressed, “Losing Christian is challenging, but I believe we responded well. We put the struggles of the first half behind us and performed strongly in the second half.”

The Panthers continued their momentum into the third quarter, with Tommy Tremble making a seven-yard rush to secure another touchdown. The pace intensified in the final quarter, with both teams scoring field goals before Darnold sealed the victory with another touchdown.
