Following a successful regular season in which they captured the AFC North title, the Baltimore Ravens are gearing up for a playoff run. Their journey begins this Saturday night when they face off against their division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers in Baltimore. The anticipation is already building.
Ravens Players Take Jabs at George Pickens
Earlier in the season, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson disclosed in an interview that he has a preference for women’s perfume over men’s cologne. On Monday, Lamar’s teammates had the opportunity to test out the quarterback’s new unisex fragrance. However, during their commentary, they made some playful digs at their upcoming rivals.
In the background of the video, a teammate can be heard remarking that the scent has a “soft” quality, drawing a comparison to Steelers wide receiver George Pickens.
“It smells like George Pickens… Soft? Yeah, smells just like that,” they stated.
Lamar Jackson Reflects on a Stellar Season
Ravens supporters were somewhat anxious when the team began the season with two losses. From 1990 through the 2023 season, 279 teams have started with an 0-2 record, and only 32 (11.5%) have reached the postseason. Those are not encouraging odds. However, as the season progressed, the Ravens emerged as the AFC North champions and are heading into the playoffs with renewed confidence.
Much of this success can be attributed to Jackson, who is arguably enjoying the finest season of his career and is on track to win consecutive MVP awards. When discussing his remarkable performance this season, Jackson mentioned that he feels like the game is “slowing down” for him.
“Those guys… The game slows down and for me, just watching film [and] observing various blitzes and strategies from opponents trying to disguise their plans towards me,” Jackson noted.
“By reviewing the mistakes and memorizing all that I’ve seen, it helps my understanding of the game’s flow. Everything’s just slowing down.”
Jackson’s statistics for the season include 4,172 passing yards, 41 touchdowns, and just 4 interceptions.
