Urban Meyer had firmly stated that he had no intention of taking on the coaching position at USC Trojans.

During a segment on CBS’s The NFL Today, La Canfora briefly talked about potential candidates for the USC job and hinted that Meyer might still be a possibility.

La Canfora mentioned, “Urban Meyer says he’s not interested either, but many of his fellow coaches believe he could be a one-season coach in Jacksonville.”

Following the firing of USC’s head coach Clay Helton after losing to Stanford in Week 2, they went on to win 45-14 against Washington State.

Regarding the USC job, Meyer stated, “No chance. I’m here. I’m committed to trying to build an organization.”

However, Meyer has faced challenges within the Jaguars organization.

According to a source familiar with the daily operations in Jacksonville, “He has everyone looking over their shoulders already. He becomes unhinged way too easily, and he doesn’t know how to handle losing, even in the preseason. He loses it and wants to take over the drills himself. It’s not good.”

The Jaguars suffered a 23-13 defeat in their home opener against the Denver Broncos, bringing their record to 0-2 for the season.
