The first overall pick in the 2003 MLB draft has found himself in serious legal trouble.
Almost twenty years ago, Delmon Young was considered one of the most promising talents in baseball. However, his recent actions have led to his arrest on Monday following accusations from his ex-girlfriend that he punched her in the chest and pushed her to the ground.
“According to police reports, a woman claiming to be Young’s ex-girlfriend stated that the former baseball player arrived at her residence, banged on her door, and demanded that she come outside.
The woman alleged that when she stepped out of her apartment, Young confronted her and became physically violent with her.

]);Law enforcement officers stated that the woman reported Young punched her in the chest and then pushed her to the ground while she was trying to escape and call 911.
Police revealed that surveillance footage captured the entire incident, showing Young hitting the woman. They also noted that the video depicted the woman “screeching in pain.”
Police stated that after the altercation, Young fled the scene and disregarded a stop sign, speeding at 90 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone.
He was subsequently arrested and faced four charges, including domestic violence.
Throughout his career playing for five different teams, Young boasted a career average of .283 with 109 home runs and 566 RBIs. His standout season was in 2010 with the Minnesota Twins, where he hit .298 with 21 home runs and 112 RBIs, earning him a 10th-place finish in the American League MVP voting.
Despite his on-field success, Young faced challenges related to his temper, which significantly impacted his career progression.
