Tiger Woods has announced his return to the PGA Tour after a five-month hiatus, with his last game dating back to February.

Woods is set to make his comeback at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio. In a tweet, the 15-times major champion expressed his excitement, saying, “I’m looking forward to playing in the @MemorialGolf next week. I’ve missed competing and can’t wait to get back out there.”

His previous appearance on tour was at the Genesis Invitational in mid-February, where he faced challenges and finished last amongst the players who made the final cut.

Following this, Woods had to sit out multiple events due to back issues and the PGA Tour shutting down in mid-March due to COVID-19 restrictions. Despite the Tour’s return, Woods opted out of the five subsequent events.

The 44-year-old golfer, currently holding 82 PGA Tour victories, is nearing a new record with just one more win needed. In the meantime, he participated in a charity match on May 24 alongside Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
