Lindsey Vonn has opted out of the upcoming World Cup races due to her knee issues and is taking a break to focus on recovery. Meanwhile, Corinne Suter’s victory is being lauded in the skiing community. Vonn shared her disappointment on Instagram, expressing that she won’t be able to compete this time around.

She informed her fans that her knee is not ready for the demands of racing and she’s diligently working on healing it. Vonn skipped the initial downhill event on Thursday and will also miss the downhill training on Saturday and Super-G on Sunday, both on a challenging three-kilometer course. This rest period is crucial for her speedy recovery.

After not completing the Super-G training previously, Vonn is taking time off to regain her fitness for future races. Rumors suggest that she intends to stage her comeback at the World Championship in Are, Sweden, starting on February 5th.

Vonn holds a remarkable record in skiing with 82 world cup victories, just four wins shy of breaking the all-time record. Despite the setbacks caused by injuries, she remains optimistic about her recovery, showcasing her resilience as an athlete. Her determination signals that she is prepared to overcome any obstacles in her path. Despite her injured knee, she managed a ninth-place finish in three races in Cortina.
