The upcoming 2019 LPGA and PGA tour is expected to be even more competitive as both tours are offering a $1 million prize for the Aon Risk Reward Challenge. This challenge is a season-long competition where a player from each tour will be awarded $1 million based on their performance on selected holes at each tournament.

Participants in this challenge will have their best two scores from every event counted, provided they have played a minimum of 40 rounds. The golfer with the best average score will win the prize money. LPGA commissioner, Mike Whan, and player Lizette Salas were in Manhattan on Wednesday to promote this initiative sponsored by Aon.

Aon, a global professional services firm, has established a multiyear relationship with both tours. According to Whan, this partnership aims to bring uniformity to the tours with consistent levels of investment in risk and reward across the season.

The Aon Risk Reward Challenge on the LPGA tour will kick off next week at the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions on the par-4 16th hole at Tranquilo Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The competition will feature 16 par 5s, ten par 4s, and three par 3s.
